Citation
Whereas, a great state is only as great as those persons who five exemplary service to their community, whether through participation in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in their professional or other endeavors or simply through a lifetime of good citizenry; and
Whereas, such service, which is truly the lifeblood of the community and the sate, so often goes unrecognized and unrewarded; nor therefore be it
Resolved, that as a duly elected Member of the State Assembly of New York, I recognize that in

在任期内的最后一天，前纽约州众议员杨爱伦2008年12月31日向联邦中小商业发展署商业发展专员郭曼丽颁发褒奖状，表扬她为社区作出的贡献。而郭曼丽则动情地表示，杨爱伦看上去很累，脸色苍白。虽然是她作为州议员任期的最后一天，但是她还始终坚持到最后一天，并认真地清理办公室。郭曼丽表示，她非常尊重杨爱伦多年来为社区作出的工作，这些工作成果的取得是任何人都不能否定的。她说，杨爱伦作为一个华人，作为一个单亲妈妈，并作为一个政治人物并没有任何政治偏见，她对此表示赞赏和尊重。（图与文：侨报记者）
