PENN DENTAL MEDICINE PROFESSIONAL PLEDGE
As I begin my education in dental medicine, I recognize that the profession I have chosen holds a special position of trust and esteem, and that honesty and integrity are the foundations of the doctor-patient relationship. I further understand that, from now forward, my actions will reflect not only on myself and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, but also on the dental profession as a whole.

I therefore pledge to:
-Adhere to and promote dentistry’s high ethical standards;
-Properly prepare myself to deliver a lifetime of competent health care;
-Interact with others truthfully and without deception during my dental training and beyond;
-To my utmost, protect my patients from harm; respect confidentiality; and
Display the qualities of honor, integrity, kindness, fairness, and compassion.

Students introduced themselves one by one, and then was presented the white coat.

Pledged.

The host shook hands with each of the students when they marched down the stage. The families were sitting and watching proudly.
