Class of 2012
As I begin my education in dental medicine, I recognize that the profession I have chosen holds a special position of trust and esteem, and that honesty and integrity are the foundations of the doctor-patient relationship. I further understand that, from now forward, my actions will reflect not only on myself and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, but also on the dental profession as a whole.
I therefore pledge to:
-Adhere to and promote dentistry’s high ethical standards;
-Properly prepare myself to deliver a lifetime of competent health care;
-Interact with others truthfully and without deception during my dental training and beyond;
-To my utmost, protect my patients from harm; respect confidentiality; and
Display the qualities of honor, integrity, kindness, fairness, and compassion.
